Contrast Phantom
This video showcases the transition from the low-energy image and the subtracted image of a contrast enhanced phantom. The subtracted image reveals the iodine-only targets, effectively highlighting areas with contrast uptake. Briona was used to process the low-energy image and perform a subtraction between the low and high energy images.
Contrast-enhanced Mammography (CEM) is a regulatory approved diagnostic technique that combines standard mammography with the intravenous injection of a contrast agent. Two mammographic exposures are taken, one with low-energy x-rays and the other with high-energy x-rays. The images are then processed or subtracted to highlight tissue with contrast uptake, enhancing the visibility of abnormalities.
Pork Phantom
This video demonstrates a contrast-enhanced phantom, consisting of pork and a contrast agent, imaged at both high and low energy levels. Briona was used to process the low-energy image and perform a subtraction between the low and high energy images. This video showcases the transition from the low energy image to the subtracted image, highlighting the contrast uptake in the pork lymph nodes.
Real Time Tomography is partnering with industry leaders to develop Contrast Enhanced Dual Energy systems, representing the next frontier in advanced breast imaging diagnostics. These systems are currently in clinical trials and are in the process of obtaining regulatory approval.
