Real Time Tomography and the University of Pennsylvania Research Project

Real Time Tomography is conducting a research project in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania to develop a method of validating and optimizing digital breast tomosynthesis reconstruction using an anthropomorphic software breast phantom.

Research methods have been developed to determine whether regions of adipose and dense tissues in tomosynthesis images are correctly identified to reconstruct images which better preserve gray scale and edge information and to detemine the geometric accuracy of tomosynthesis image reconstruction algorithms.
